The lawsuit ad is the pitch. This is the docket.
Almost everything a person reads after seeing “you may qualify” is written by someone paid per signed client. The court publishes a calmer document: which litigations exist, how many cases each holds, which judge has them, and what the filings actually claim. We put that document in one place and keep it current every month.
- Case counts straight from the Judicial Panel, dated
- Status from court orders and official administrators
- Who qualifies, quoted from the filings
- No payout projections, no claim forms, no pressure

How to use the record
Three checks before you fill out anyone's form

Find the docket
Every federal MDL has a number and a line on the Panel's monthly report. Search the register for the product, drug or company. If it is there, the litigation is real; the count tells you how many people are already in it.

Read the status
Active, settled, claims open, or mostly dismissed. A litigation that settled in June is a different situation from one adding 350 cases a month. The settlements page lists the ones whose door has changed.

Compare yourself to the filings
Each lawsuit record quotes the injuries and exposures the master complaint and plaintiff fact sheet cover. If they describe you, a case review is a reasonable next step. If they do not, you have saved yourself a phone call.
Questions, answered
What people ask about mass tort lawsuits
What is Settlement Record?
An independent public record of U.S. mass litigation. The core of it is the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation's monthly report of every pending MDL, re-parsed each month into a register with case counts and trends. On top of that, plain-language records for the largest consumer, drug and device litigations: what the filings allege, where the case stands, and who the court documents say qualifies, with sources. It is not a law firm and gives no legal advice.
How do I know if a lawsuit ad is real?
Find the litigation on the register. Every federal MDL is on the Judicial Panel's monthly report with a docket number, a court and a case count; if the ad's lawsuit is federal and centralized, it is here. If it settled or was mostly dismissed, the record says so with the date. State-court litigation and un-centralized federal cases are not on the JPML report and so not on this register.
Do I qualify?
The honest answer from a public record is: here is what the master complaint and the court's plaintiff fact sheet say the litigation covers. Each lawsuit record quotes those criteria. Whether an individual case is viable is a lawyer's judgment, and limitations periods vary by state.
How much will I get?
No page on this site projects a payout. Where a settlement has concluded and an official source states a total, the record cites it with the source and date. Anything more specific than that is marketing, not record.
Where do I file a claim for a settlement?
With the court-appointed settlement administrator, on its own website. Our settlement pages link to the official administrator and state the published deadline. We never host claim forms and never take a claim.
How does this site make money?
If you ask for a case review and consent to be contacted, a participating law firm or intake partner may pay us for the referral. That is disclosed on every page and inside the form itself, and the consent box is unchecked until you check it.
Settlement Record is an independent reference built from public court records and agency publications. Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here states that any person has a valid claim. Litigation facts are dated and sourced on each page; confirm anything you rely on against the court's own docket.

Three things to check first
Is the lawsuit real? Every federal MDL is on the Judicial Panel's monthly report. If a docket number is on our register, the litigation exists; if it settled or was dismissed, the record says so.
Who do the filings say qualifies? The master complaint and the court's plaintiff fact sheet define the injuries and exposures at issue. We quote those, not an ad.
Where is the official form? For settled class actions, the court-appointed administrator runs the claims. We link to it and never host a claim form ourselves.
Public court data, dated and sourced. Not a law firm, not legal advice.
